Eser Mutlu: The Laughter Queen Who Brought Laughter Yoga to Turkey
Mutlu, born in Istanbul, Turkey, is widely recognized as the first Laughter Yoga Master in Turkey. Her journey into the world of laughter began unexpectedly while she was in India studying Ayurveda. By chance, she discovered Laughter Yoga and became fascinated by its unique ability to promote health, happiness, and emotional well-being.
Discovering the Magic of Laughter Yoga
Inspired to learn more, Eser attended Laughter Yoga Teacher Training in Switzerland in 2011 under the guidance of Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement. The experience was life-changing. She not only learned the techniques of Laughter Yoga but also experienced its deeper spirit and transformative power. Motivated by this profound experience, she returned home with a mission—to bring more laughter and joy to the people of Turkey.
At that time, Laughter Yoga was virtually unknown in Turkey. Despite the challenges of introducing a completely new concept, Eser remained committed to her vision. Through passion, persistence, and dedication, she pioneered the Laughter Yoga movement across the country.
Becoming Turkey's First Laughter Yoga Master
Over the years, Eser has conducted numerous Laughter Yoga Leader Trainings, inspiring people from all walks of life to become ambassadors of laughter and spread its benefits within their communities.
Laughter Yoga transformed Eser's life in many ways. Not only did it become her profession and life's purpose, but it also had a remarkable impact on her personal health. Through regular practice, she lost 40 kilograms, regained her vitality, and significantly improved her overall well-being. The positive changes she experienced strengthened her belief in the power of laughter as a tool for personal transformation.
Her work has opened many exciting opportunities, including organizing Laughter Yoga camps, leading social projects, speaking at conferences, and helping thousands of people discover the healing benefits of laughter.
One particularly inspiring experience occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. While conducting an online Laughter Yoga Leader Training, Eser met a young deaf woman who expressed a strong desire to become a certified Laughter Yoga Leader. Despite the challenges of participating in an online program, the young woman persevered with determination and successfully completed the training. Her achievement became a powerful reminder that laughter transcends language, sound, and physical limitations.
Inspiring Thousands to Laugh, Heal, and Thrive
Over the years, Eser has witnessed remarkable social changes. In the past, many women were discouraged from laughing loudly in public. Today, countless women and men freely express joy through Laughter Yoga. Participants often describe experiencing "laughter explosions" and levels of joyful, wholehearted laughter they had never experienced before. Through Laughter Yoga, they discover the freedom to laugh openly, release emotional burdens, and reconnect with their natural sense of joy.
Affectionately known as the Laughter Queen of Turkey, Eser Mutlu has become one of the country's most respected Laughter Yoga professionals. Her unwavering dedication has touched countless lives and helped establish a thriving Laughter Yoga community throughout Turkey.
Today, she continues her mission with the same passion and enthusiasm that inspired her many years ago. She remains committed to spreading Health, Happiness, and World Peace through Laughter and considers this work a divine service to humanity. Her vision is simple yet powerful: to help people live healthier, happier, and more joyful lives through the transformative power of laughter.
