From 1968 to 2005, I lived and worked in North India, where I served as a Department Manager for a globally respected private company. During this chapter of my life, I faced a major personal challenge when I suffered from acute depression. The condition tested my strength, but through perseverance and commitment, I managed to survive and rebuild myself.
My journey toward recovery took a positive turn when I discovered Laughter Yoga. I first joined a session at Annamanada, which eventually led me to attend a seminar in Bangalore conducted by the renowned Laughter Guru, Dr. Madan Kataria. These experiences revealed to me the profound benefits of Laughter Yoga—helping individuals cope with depression, manage anger, adopt discipline, and embrace healthier lifestyle modifications.
The practice played a pivotal role in transforming my life. I recently completed the Laughter Yoga Leadership Training in Kochi, where I received official certification. Today, I proudly serve as the Leader of the Green Park Laughter Club in Koratty, which has around 50 active members. Through this role, I strive to spread the healing power of laughter and create a supportive community.
Parallel to this journey, I also found passion and strength in marathon running. Since beginning in 2018, I have successfully completed 18 full marathons (42.198 km each) and 75 half marathons (21.098 km each). Distance running has not only strengthened me physically but also mentally, teaching resilience, endurance, and consistency.
Together, Laughter Yoga and marathon running have played a transformative role in my life. They helped me overcome the difficulties associated with depression, bring balance and discipline into everyday living, and reintroduce happiness, optimism, and purpose. I now dedicate my time to inspiring others to experience the same benefits through laughter, wellness, and fitness.
