Dr. Martin ,(The Laughter Doctor), was one of the first people to be trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader and Trainer in South Africa. He is the founder and CEO of Laughter for Africa. Dr Kataria is also the Patron of Laughter for Africa.

Besides being a certified Laughter Yoga Teacher & Coach in South Africa, he is also an international registered and qualified Yoga, Relaxation and Meditation Teacher, and has been teaching meditation for the past 18 years. He holds a degree in Psychology and is a Wellness Coach and Consultant.

Martin completed a PhD in Laughter as Therapy in 2015.
