An Unexpected Encounter with Laughter
Tové Kane is a highly respected Master Trainer and Ambassador of Laughter Yoga, admired for her resilience and radiant spirit despite living with chronic health conditions such as Fibromyalgia and a dual-chamber cardiac pacemaker.
Her journey began in the year 2000 during a Marketing Expo where, amidst the noise of presentations and booths, she heard an eruption of laughter coming from one of the breakout rooms. Intrigued, she followed the sound and discovered a Laughter Yoga session in progress. That moment changed her life—she fell in love instantly with the concept of laughing for no reason.
Later, while researching for her book Mind Over Natter, she came across Dr. Madan Kataria’s book "Laughter Yoga". Deeply inspired, she decided to explore it further—starting with the Basic and Leader courses, then moving on to the Inner Spirit of Laughter program. Under Dr. Kataria’s mentorship, she eventually became a Master Trainer, teaching others how laughter can be both a spiritual and therapeutic practice.
Healing Through Grief and Adversity
Laughter Yoga became Tové’s greatest source of strength in the face of profound personal loss. When her mother passed away in her arms, she found comfort in what she calls “grief-laughter”—allowing her to process sorrow with gentle laughter and emotional release.
Similarly, after losing her two beloved dogs, Laughter Yoga became a healing force, helping her recover from the deep emotional pain. Even during challenging life events such as being retrenched from work, laughter served as her anchor of resilience, keeping her hopeful and forward-looking.
A Journey of Healing and Transformation
Living with anxiety, depression, Fibromyalgia, and Osteoporosis, Tové discovered that laughter was more than emotional relief—it was a physical healing tool. Regular Laughter Yoga practice improved her cardiac and lung capacity, enhanced her creativity, and helped her manage pain and fatigue.
She believes that laughter has strengthened her heart function, even with a pacemaker, and brought renewed vitality to her breathing. More importantly, it lifted her spirits, gave her purpose, and reignited her passion for life.
A Lighter, Brighter Life
Today, Tové Kane embodies the true spirit of Laughter Yoga—joyful, energetic, and full of life. Each day, she consciously creates moments of laughter and fun, feeling lighter and more connected to the world. Her story is a beautiful reminder that even in the face of pain, laughter can heal, transform, and illuminate the path forward.
