Laugh Out Loud For Good Health


Laughter is undoubtedly the best medicine. And Wellness Laughter Yoga aims to deliver just that by holding laugh out loud sessions at Lewes library and other places in coastal Delaware. These sessions are conducted by certified Laughter Yoga leader Michele Buckler as an exercise complete wellness. It allows people to laugh regardless of their circumstances, by using breathing exercises and simulated laughter techniques, which help to enhance ones emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

Talking about his experience, Buckler said that he suffered from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and was also diagnosed with some health issues. While trying to resolve his problems, he stumbled upon Laughter Yoga which changed his life completely.  “I knew that this was very important and I wanted to continue on doing it. Since it helped me, maybe it could help others,” he said.

A few of the benefits are that it oxygenates the blood, releases endorphins, alleviates tension, boosts immunity, facilitates social connection, supports emotional well-being, improves mental functioning, promotes a positive attitude and  it is energizing and fun. Studies say that we should get a D.O.S.E. (D- Dopamine, O-Oxytocin, S-Serotonin, E-Endorphin) of laughter every day! So go ahead and laugh your way to health…. hahaha
