In February 2007 while in Florida, I learned about Laughter Yoga when listening to the public broadcasting radio channel. How intriguing. I like Yoga, I like to laugh, why not try this? The reporter mentioned that there was a website with a list of local clubs. I immediately logged on. Leader Ellen Poage had just started a club three weeks prior. Yippee! What luck!
I visited regularly for four weeks. OMG. I was immediately smitten. I wanted to share this remarkable therapy. Meanwhile I returned to Ohio (where I spend part of the year) to look for a Leader trainer. I mentioned this to my sister, Cia in Oklahoma and she immediately found a training workshop with Tyler Slater and became a Certified Leader.
After not finding a workshop in my area, my sister called to tell me that Dr. Kataria was offering a teacher training in Florida which is where my husband and I spend the rest of our time.
I have always heard that life unfolds as it should and that things happen for a reason. Only since I have embraced the Laughter Yoga movement have I seen this materialize in my life. I have met so many amazing people, made many dear friends and I have become more confident as Dr. Kataria proclaims. Long dormant talents have blossomed and new gifts have awakened. My sister and I grow much closer as we share our escapades. As a Laughter Yoga teacher, opportunities have presented themselves that would never have crossed my path. There are few things in my life that have made such an impact and I take great joy as I train others and see how this impacts their lives too.
