This is a very interesting and unusual request from Eleonora Zuleta Patiño who wants three small children from her Laughter Club to be trained as laughter leaders! All of 10 years, Daniel Millán Brito, Ernesto Barazarte, and Diego López Mendoza have shown great potential and skills in doing Laughter Yoga and leading the sessions.
Daniel has even presented a research paper in a college where he spoke about the benefits of laughter. This work testifies his maturity and respect for Laughter Yoga. Before he joined the Laughter Club, Daniel was very sick, but his constant attendance at meetings and proper medical care has made him one of the most beloved members of the group. Ernesto and Diego on their part are equally accomplished and know the whole routine of five points and three reasons. “It is an awesome experience to see these little “Laughter Leaders” explaining the philosophy and benefits of Laughter Yoga so fluently,” says Eleonora.
Eleonora has strong reasons to believe that these children are capable of leading group laughter sessions. In fact, even their parents are willing to accompany them and have given the permission to go ahead so long as the training workshops do not interfere in their schooling. Another reason is the fact that it would strengthen family ties and is a great way to increase the children’s self-esteem, vitality and emotional intelligence.
In fact, being able to lead a group of 15, 20 or 50 people at such a young age is something invaluable and we must provide the necessary guidance and proper supervision to enable these children to spread laughter and joy among people. This really goes to prove that “A child is the father of man”
