Spastic Children Laugh Their Way To Better Health

The Spastic Children Association of Johor Laughter Club recently organized a gathering which was attended by over 500 people including cerebral palsy (CP) patients, spastic children, their parents, and association staff to celebrate the first anniversary of the club. There were also members of the Taman Century Laughter Yoga and 25 stroke patients from the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) Johor branch.

Also present at the event were representatives from the Malaysia Red Crescent Society (MRCS) and a group of 30 counseling teachers from Kulaijaya. In conjunction with the World Red Crescent Day celebration, the MRCS community services department distributed free oat porridge to all present, including CP patients. Shortly after enjoying their meal, the children and other guests participated in a 45-minute Laughter Yoga session conducted by T. C. Lim who said that Laughter Yoga is beneficial because it improves physical and mental health.
