The Melbourne Laughter Club was established by Merv Neal on the 28th February 2011. It is held at the Kilbride Centre which is a magnificent double story mansion overlooking the bay of Melbourne. The Kilbride Centre is a Spiritual Centre and runs lots of complimentary classes to Laughter Yoga.

Within two weeks there were sixteen people attending. From young to old, husbands and wives, mothers and daughters, everyone wanted to come along. This was mainly due to the marketing from the Centre’s very proactive staff.

It goes from 6pm to 6.45pm. These times were set to capture the working people on their way home. If they’re early tea and coffee awaits. You can also miss sitting in the peak hour traffic along with being home not too late for dinner.

The first 15 minutes is a discussion around a specific element of Laughter Yoga. This is interactive and explores different parts of the mind, body, and spirit when doing laughter Yoga. The last half hour is purely a Laughter Session with others contributing their own laughs. The session always ends on the floor with everyone being able to experience long and euphoric laughter.

At the end of each week an email goes out to everyone to inform those who couldn’t make it know what happened, and also to let everyone know what the theme will be for next week. We also have a Facebook Page and Tweeter account established to keep in touch. Even at this early stage we have folks wanting to undergo Laughter Leader Training and enquiring about our Annual Conference in August.
