The Telegraph, Kolkata reported how love and laughter came together on 14th February, Valentines Day, in ‘The City of Joy’. Nearly 1000 delegates from West Bengal Laughter clubs got together at Robindra Sarovar Stadium and walked through the city chanting ho ho ha ha, laughter is the best medicine, very good very good Yeah, and doing some laughter exercises.
This amazing ‘Laughethon’ was organized by the East Bengal Laughing Academy under the leadership of L N Daga. After the march past, members of various laughter clubs gathered in the auditorium and shared their experiences about the benefits of Laughter Yoga and how it changed their lives. Dr. Amitabh Gosh, MD and Head of Department of internal medicine, S S K M Hospital, also spoke about the benefits of laughter.
A regular member, Mrs. Archna who came from almost 200 kms away from Kolkata to participate in the Laughter Rally said she has been going to the laughter club every morning for more than 10 years. She attends the laughter session 365 days and has never fallen sick ever since!
